The Difference between "Least" & "Most"
by Sharyl V.
I once interviewed a job candidate for a customer service position, and I asked her about her most favorite and least favorite job in her past.
Well, she definitely named her most favorite, but then when describing her least favorite, she just named another favorite job she had... I thought maybe she didn't hear my question, and asked her again about her least favorite... That's when I realized that she didn't even know what "least favorite" meant...
Me: "What has been your most and least favorite job in your past?"
Candidate: "My most favorite job was working in retail because I like talking to customers. And my least favorite job was working in an ice cream parlor because I loved the atmosphere."
Me: (Thinking that I misunderstood her) "Oh ok, but how about your LEAST favorite job?"
Candidate: "Yes, the ice cream shop. I just loved scooping those ice creams..."
